I hear the 3rd Sunday Social will be at the Royal Blenheim again this Sunday, not at the Lamb & Flag. Nothing against RB, which has always been an amazing place for the FolkWeekend / FolkFestival late sessions, but I thought the LF was a great addition to the range of session venues around here, so it would be a shame to lose it.

The monthly will take place this coming Wednesday, 9.4. at the (Marston St, off Iffley Rd) starting 8:30 pm. Feels like coming home as it is quite close to the James Street Tavern. And the pub has been a lovely and supportive venue for the recently started Thursday sessions.

Had a good music session last night - our usual small core of free-reed instruments being supplemented by a low whistler, a guitarist and a banjo player; the latter two did a couple of “old time” songs, while the former encouraged us into a brief and enjoyable Northumbrian spree. And of course I took my new smallpipes, which went down well.
I’m looking forward to a get-together to play in the park on Easter Monday ahead of our next regular gathering on the last Tuesday night in April already.

If you’re in or near #BedfordUK and play folk music you should come along - message me for details!

at the Blue happening , from 7:30. That's in Marston Street, coming from St. Clements it's the continuation of Rectory Road. Coming from the Plain down the Iffley Rd it's the 4th on the left. I needed to write that down, otherwise I would have to look it up every month ...

The session has come around again already! Last Tuesday of the month, 7.30pm at The Wellington Arms, Wellington Street, Bedford (UK) - all welcome, generally a mixture of English, Northumbrian and European folk music. I know there are some local-ish people on here, so why not come along?
(Because 11 and a half hours isn’t enough notice you say? Fair point.)

#CaperDay went well on Thursday, a great time dancing in one of our favourite pubs and relaxing afterwards. We'd also been there for our #FolkSession on Tuesday (not many players, but reviewed our whole "core" tunebook!) - so last night some of #RedCuthbertMorris celebrated at the #AldburyMorrisMen ale - lots of dancing, lots of cheer, excellent fish & chips (and cheese & biscuits)... a really good week. How way yours?
