The cypress lane in the Boboli Gardens, Florence. Planting started in 1612. While my own gardening style tends to the opposite (wild abandon), I gained a lot of appreciation for the grand, formal style. The magnificence of this lane cannot be overstated.

The view is up a a gently rising cypress lane. The trees are mature, with finely clipped hedges on the side, obscuring their trunks. There are statues on either side of the entrance, and one cam see statues in the classical style at regular intervals up the lane. A group of 3 people are eambolg up the lane in the distance. The lane itself is made of grit.
