I think this is a blessing in disguise, tbh.
The presidential approval rating, like the 3.5% thing, tends to be misused as a magic number that indicates unequivocally which side is "winning." It's an excuse to limit ourselves to keyboard activism.
Now, "we just have to make him unpopular enough" isn't gonna cut it. If people want change, they'll have to look for it in the streets.

So come high election season when people are citing #Gallup polls, anyone who speaks as if they are credible is themself not credible. If Gallup are too scaredy-pants to publish numbers Trump doesn't like, then they can fuck themselves. Anyone who takes them seriously can equally fuck themselves.
I would hope that anyone that pays them will think twice about continuing to do so.
