One of the weaknesses of the #COP28 #GlobalStocktake outcome is the lack of a mechanism to track progress towards the new global goals for #fossilfuels, #renewables, #efficiency etc. The IEA is now taking this on for the energy-related parts. here is the link to #GlobalStockTake latest draft text. Paras 28 and 29 are the #EnergyTransition package, and it still refuses to acknowledge need for #FossilFuelPhaseout😡 , with loopholes for continuing #Fossilgas as a 'transition fuel', use of abatement technologies like CCS.
