In this guide, I will try to explain how to set up a Docker Swarm system that is completely highly available

A Cloud symbol at the top that is connected the nginx-proxy-manager logo. The nginx-proxy-manager logo is connected to three docker logos. Under each docker logo is a gluster logo.

#glusterfs is up and running in my 2.5 nodes #homelab #proxmox #cluster 😀
The #OpnSense #router is migrating without any problems, even the ping is constant running...

Thinking about that "Scale" part in the product name of #TrueNAS Scale.

What are the plans of the vendor to make the scale after they decided to not use #GlusterFS for that purpose. With #Ceph maybe?

I told my neighbor #GlusterFS keeps eating my external hard drives so he asked how many hdds I have lost and I said I just go online to the store and get a new hdd afterwards so he said it sounds like I'm just feeding hdds to glusterfs and then I started crying.

Seriously considering ditching and writing my own Rube Goldberg machine to sync container files between hosts, since I'm manually allocating which containers are running on which hosts anyway. It's sooo slooow... 😩

#GlusterFS seems currently broken on #FreeBSD, ... anyway, I think a HA NFS setup with HAST would be better anyway for my home setup!

I think about a upgrade of my #Proxmox #Cluster. Currently I have two (more ore less) identical nodes and a voting device.
if I add a third proxmox node and remove the voting device, I can run #GlusterFS over all three nodes. Each node only needs two striped HDD, mirror is not needed anymore. (I dont need the performance, it's just for backup).
For th third node I have a very old hardware, but just for data backup it should be ok. At least a few LXC can run on it.
What do you think? Is this a good setup for a #homelab?

Premières briques montées pour un projet de #CHATONS -> quercylibre.fr

Ça tourne sur des RPI3 avec #Docker #swarm #traefik en reverse-proxy et des clés USB chiffrées agrégées avec #glusterfs

After a few months, I've migrated everything to my cluster, removed the old MacBook, even got 2 versions of #FoundryVTT running and a couple other fun services.

The problem is even though #GlusterFS was the right choice in the moment, *arr apps absolutely HATE network storage. #SQLite is the culprit, and the devs for #Lidarr, #Radarr, #Sonarr, and others appear completely uninterested in switching away from SQLite. I would prefer #MySQL, but evidently, even though this issue repeatedly comes up, folks like me who want to run *arr apps on a swarm are edge cases.

So, I could restrict each app to a specific node, which I don't want to do because a couple of my nodes will randomly stop working and require me to manually restart them. Or, I can continue to put up with DB corruption, which is proving to be a real pain.

Or search for another solution to replace *arr? Truth be told, I use Lidarr the most and it isn't super great at what it does.
