#Google's Pixel At A Glance weather app has been hassling me for days to change location perms. I finally gave in and set it repeatedly to 'Allow only while using this app'. But it keeps complaining about location perms.
So I tried giving it 'Allow all the time' and that makes #Android bitch this is too much permissions for this app. Can't win, #GoogleSucks #FuckGoogle
Any recommendations for a replacement weather app for Android, preferably from a non Play Store app store like #FDroid?

PSA: remember kids, if something does not work in Firefox, then it works in Firefox in a tracksuit made of Chrome's skin.

(As in change the UA.)

Edit: with the news of Mozilla enshitifying itself, this might be more important than I thought.

I am having a problem with figuring out the ignore_directories configuration with the sigal gallery maker. I can't seem to get the form correct because the directories (and sub-directories) keep getting into the build.

I have also looked at the docs and for examples, but haven't come across anything. #googlesucks

I searched for something yesterday that I knew existed.

Even putting double quotes around a specific keyword, it still split that keyword into two words and provided alternate stuff.

It took me an hour to find what I was looking for.

The process of extricating myself from Google's clutches has been... turbulent. Being technically 'capable' hasn't prevented me from wasting countless hours trying to solve problems caused by a combination of Google's villainy and my own imperfect grasp of its machinery.

I feel as though I've spent the last week being sabotaged by an enemy I can't quite get a lock on. I'm tired of it, but I'm even more tired of being Google's b***h. And so I'll press on.

So, I tried to use google maps to make a cycling route.

I called up maps on my laptop to take advantage of the larger screen over my phone. It actually had some good route suggestions that I was not aware of (one of them being a new road recently constructed). I made a few modifications of the route to avoid as much as possible a very busy stroad.

As with car routes, trying to make slight adjustments was a complete pain in the ass, you have to move the little route points and often moving one changes the entire route, not just moving, say to a parallel street for a couple of blocks. It ended up making crazy dead end detours. Totally stupid.

After struggling with the mechanics of it for a while, I finally got it the way I wanted it. There is a "button" to send the route to my phone. I sent it to my phone.

I did NOT get the route I planned. What I got on my phone was the original search result of the end point I started with. The one that indicates two different routes, both of which contain significant stroad segments.

Google Maps sucks!

The most annoying #popup ad on the internet. I'm taking steps to degooglify when it's convenient and not annoying and one of those things is not using my google email to sign up and into services.

Now that I'm not using google all the time every time, I constantly see pester pop-ups begging me to link to google.
