Hello, silly you! 😘
It's been a few days I wanted to exhume an old band from the 80s: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲. Ordinarily, I'm more joyful like their title "𝘓𝘦𝘨𝘴" or their collaboration with Tom Jones with the cover of the song "𝘒𝘪𝘴𝘴" by Prince. But we're at the beginning of a dark era and their title "𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴" is awfully more accurate now.
Here's a translated copy & paste of what I found on the french version of songtell, an A.I. written post that is strangely missing in its english version:
The song "Instruments of Darkness" by The Art of Noise recounts the story of a government that upholds law and order, yet equally engages in acts of violence against its own people. The urgency of the song is expressed through a strong language and the repetition of the phrase "never never never," because oppressive actions by the government should not be tolerated. The song is a stark reminder of the harsh reality of oppression and a call for justice for those who suffer. The phrase "Your agony must endure forever" is a powerful cry for justice, serving as a warning that it is a long-term fight against violence and injustice. "Instruments of Darkness" is a song that ends with a call to action, inspiring people to work together to create a better future.
Originally, this title was created to protest against apartheid in South Africa. Doesn't it sound familiarly eventual?
And I discovered another video about this title made with video archives of the WW2. I will post it in the comments of this post.
Note: "Art of This" is a reformation of the original band.
