The cuirass and helmet of King Philip II of Macedon, father of Alexander the Great, is a notable example of ancient Macedonian armor, made of bronze and adorned with gold decorations.

Philip II was a key historical figure known for his military innovations and kingdom expansion. In 339 BC, he suffered a severe lance wound to his leg during a battle, which resulted in a permanent limp.

"An important marble relief depicting the earthquake of 62 A.D. that was stolen from Pompeii in 1975 has been found in affixed to the wall of a stairwell in a home in Herzele, Belgium. The strip of marble depicts the city in the grip of the earthquake, one of its gates capturing in the moment it sheers off the defensive walls and collapses."
