I am cautiously moving my general information search from websearch sites to claude.ai, here's why:
1. The major search engines are already using "AI" without telling me anyway.
2. Public search engines are biased and are becoming unreliable for performing a search for information.
3. Sponsored results are getting worse and worse.
4. Claude.ai has an ethical underpinning.
I ain't paying for it. But as a search engine replacement for the kinds of things I search for, it might be fairly usable.
Google took down a Linus Tech Tips video because it taught users how to download YouTube without using YouTube.
It would be a shame if that backfired and caused more people to learn how to download YouTube videos!
