I have finally, finally played my Wyrmblade squad for Kill Team for the first time! 🎉 And we even made it through the whole game, and I won 7-5! (Though it was one of those good games where even if I'd lost it would have felt fine, it wasn't an absolute one-sided thrashing where none of the dice went my way at any point.)

It was versus the Battleclade which granted are more one of the difficult teams to pilot and both of us were brand-new to our teams. I've never played a horde team before, it was really interesting playing them compared to our usual elites because I was able to play a bit more cagey and had four just bog-standard warriors that were handy for doing stuff or baiting the enemy out but if they died it didn't really matter that much. Lucky roll of the match goes to my Locus who needed to roll three 5+ saves to not die horribly and pulled it off! It also very much turned the tide of the game in that particular room and allowed me a lot more breathing room than I'd otherwise have had. I also managed to absolutely destroy the Battleclade leader with my heavy gunner, five attacks on 4+ with Piercing 1 and ceaseless, and after re-rolls they all ended up being 5s or 6s with the exception of a single 4. Beyond that, though, there wasn't a particular single character who really shone and murdered a bunch of the enemy on their own, everyone was pretty solid.

I definitely made some mistakes, I need to remember to keep some of the warriors around my leader so they can be used to throw themselves in front of attempts to kill him, and there were a couple of other things that triggered off the warriors dying or being around other specific miniatures. But having the cards printed out and all sitting in front of me visible so I could glance over them to refresh my memory really helped. They're a really fun team to play, they have so much access to rerolls that I didn't end up using a single command point reroll the whole game.

A pair of complete strangers saw my Celestian Insidiants and said they look incredible. After I told them they were a rushed paint job (painted in like 2.5 days!) they looked seriously impressed!
