Sound Transit - 13 February 2026
Looking back at Wednesday's ridership numbers
Like or comment if you took transit to the parade!
Video description: text on screen reads “Wednesday didn't just break our daily ridership record. It blew it out of the water. Early estimates show more than 200,000 boardings on Link. That's 100,000 more than this day last year. Sounder added more than 20,000 boardings, and many more took ST Express. As numbers continue to come in, we expect them to go up! Thank you, everyone!”

It was a cold night with some lovely fog. I rode this #Trolleybus to a connection with the #LinkLightRail which took me back to my hotel downtown.

A trolleybus approaching through a fog. They seem to have dedicated bus lanes here. Seattle is a great city for transit!

I love that visitors to #seattle who are taking the light rail to the airport need to know if they want to go to Lynnwood or Angle Lake.

Ich sitze ja ein bisschen wie auf Kohlen, was das Projekt angeht. Die Link Light Rail soll mal über eine schwimmende Brücke fahren. Aber es gibt Verzögerungen.

And it brought down Light Rail as well. Nifty. Those trying to get home from the Sounders game had some extra suckage to go along with that match.

Apparently Sound Transit is needing to close the DSTT this coming weekend, with under a week's notice because of track issues in the tunnel, again.

#Seattle #SoundTransit #LinkLightRail #PublicTransit

Plan for significant increases in travel time, Jun. 21-22 due to emergent rail replacement in the 1 Line tunnel from SODO Station to Capitol Hill Station

In a perfect world, we would be without problems. Unfortunately, routine rail inspection identified a section of rail in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel that was in need of repair.

The repair is necessary at this time to replace a section of rail near Westlake Station.

During this time trains are operating approximately every 15 minutes between Lynnwood City Center and Capitol Hill and from SODO to Angle Lake stations.

Passengers should plan for significant increases in travel time and consider alternate forms of transportation, especially local bus service for those traveling to a location between Capitol Hill and SODO Stations.

Passengers must transfer at Capitol Hill and SODO stations to continue to downtown Seattle stations, where 1 Line Shuttle buses will run approximately every 30-60 minutes.

Please use 1 Line Shuttle stop signs to identify where to get on/off buses.
