As much as I hate bagging open source volunteer projects... I'm going to, in a minor way with this observation.

I was siting in the #continuwuity #matrix channel and someone asked about the confusing naming throughout the project; some stuff is labelled #conduit, some #conduwuit, and some continuwuity - and where continuwuity is used in the docs it conflict with actuality. Even the systemd conf dir and user is different.

Surely a `find and replace` done before making other changes would be better for the long term stability of the project; do the boring and annoying stuff now so you don't need to worry about it later?

Great project still; it's not something I could create or maintain and am appreciate that it exists still.

Was really hoping that matrix-bridges are an answer to my 4-separate-messaging-apps problem, but they are quite wonky and one of the bridges suddenly lost connection today and I was blissfully unaware. Guess I'll keep the 4 separate messaging apps.

Ack, I dropped the wrong #postgres cluster last night and it nuked the databases for my #Forgejo and #Matrix Synapse instances. Of course the backups stopped working a year ago 🙃

I still have a 57GB `base` dir from the database, but no WALs or anything else. Don't think it's recoverable, though... I fear I will be picking up the pieces for a few weeks at least.

they just need to try it out, I think you don't need much effort to prove this point, besides the smooth user experience of #DeltaChat:

* the app itself is much more lightweight (and only ~20mb unlike +150mb element)

* and the servers as well, ex. you can host +8k users with 2-4GB of ram and <20GB of storage
