May bug that bumped into the window from the inside. They orient themselves by the moonlight and get confused by artificial light. It flew of again in the dusk of the evening.

The only other visitor of note clinging to the side of the moth box was the MALE COCKCHAFER .... no, not a genital stimulant for perverts, but a member of the scarab beetle family and often considered a bit of a pest. This is male because he has seven fingers on his antennae.

Head on shot of a cockchafer beetle. It has two small eyes either side of its nose, with two claw like hooks emerging from the side of its mouth. It has two very elaborate antennae. They are orange. They start as normal thin antennae before fanning out into seven fingers or elongated teardrop petals. Its beetle body is blurred in the background but is a tough, crunchy grey.
