I didn't know Metroid Prime 2's Japanese subtitle was Dark Echoes. I favor the North American and European box art for the Luminoth and Ing. Even if the HUD elements make it a bit busy on that image, they're washed out on the actual opalescent case insert (someone posted a photo in the comments section). Although... I never actually opened my GameCube copy, so at the time I received it I guess I didn't favor that box art. My first playthrough wasn't until Metroid Prime Trilogy.

Currently progressing through Metroid Prime 2. I'm having a blast! Great level design, varied environments and enemies, etc.
I really thought I had crashed the game on the last screenshot (and I almost reset the game 😅)

I think the first time I played Metroid Prime 2, I lost sight of my goals, etc. But this time everything is crystal clear 🙂
It's been so long since I played Metroid Prime 2 (probably in 2009, when Metroid Prime: Trilogy was released) that I've forgotten almost everything about it.
And that's a good thing. It's like I'm playing it for the first time! 😀

Took me a while to get back into it after Wonder stole my attention away from it.
While flawed, MP2 is a thoroughly enjoyable game. Especially the Wii edition. I like the dark aesthetic, but I'll admit I felt significantly more pressured by the corrosive Dark Aether sections than I remember.
There were two mean sequences where you couldn't save between a section of progress and a stressful boss battle.
Finished with 99% scans.
Jeeeeeez! Playing #MetroidPrime2 again, and I just played the MEANEST bit.
After getting the Seeker Launcher and returning to subterranean Torvus Bog, I had to take two big half-loops around the area to unlock a door in the central chamber.
Doing so blocked access to the save station. Onwards it is.
Found the Gravity Booster, forcing me into the super-mean Alpha Blogg battle.
Beat the stressful boss with 29/699 energy (health) and A LOT of unsaved progress.
Need to log my playthrough of Super Mario Bros. Wonder that I finished a few days ago. Haven't had much computer time recently.
That said, since SMBW isn't pulling at me anymore, I'm finally continuing my #MetroidPrime2 playthrough.
Enjoying it, despite a light touch of anxiety attached to its dark world... and the annoyances in how much effort the devs seemed to put into discouraging exploration... in an exploration-focused series.
My list of downloaded Steam demos is finally empty!
Skipped a few, didn't vibe with a few, but finished most of them and added a fair number of them to my wishlist for the future.
Now... I do have a bunch of full games installed that I'd like to play (i.e. #LostRecords and #QuantumWitch), but I could need some time to separate gaming from "working", so I'll start with a couple of console games like #MetroidPrime2 and #SuperMarioBrosWonder while I do some webdev during my PC time.
I've been playing #MetroidPrime2 on #GameCube.
A very pleasant experience, especially now that I have the digital-to-HDMI adapter. The image is 480p, which isn't stellar by modern games but looks better than the composite signal allowed.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is slightly better than Metroid Prime 1.
After Sky Fortress the game shits itself on discovery. The fourth beam is useless. Super beams are useless. The rest vary between ok and better than the previous game.
