Nach #Soumy Anfang letzten November macht sich jetzt auch #Micky auf den Weg über die Regenbogenbrücke... und wir können nur für ihn da sein, ihm Ruhe, Geborgenheit und Frieden vermitteln ... und zuschauen ... Ich weiss nicht, wie lange es noch dauert, aber er ist sehr schwach..
Er frisst und trinkt nichts mehr, jetzt ist er in seiner Höhle und ruht sich aus.
Es fühlt sich so hilflos an und traurig... loslassen ist so schwer. Er ist ein Familienmitglied.

Last Friday week three men left the Boat Harbour, Wellington, in the launch #Micky for Kaikoura. Their voyage concluded at 5 o’clock on Thursday last, when their small craft was towed back to #Wellington in a broken-down condition by the Union Company’s steamer Wanaka.…
The occupants of the Micky were Mr. George Walker and Mr. F. Hendry and his son, and it was their intention to proceed to the South Island on a #fishing expedition. About 40 miles [65 km] south of Wellington the launch ran into a southerly, and a sea which quickly arose, swept on board, flooding the engine and damaging the magneto. With a useless engine the little boat was completely at the whim of the waves, though a jury sail helped to steady her. From then till last Thursday the Micky drifted in Cook Strait.… At 10.30 a.m. on Thursday last, when about 30 miles [50 km] away from Kaikoura, the Wanaka was sighted, and the Micky taken in tow.

The Micky is a well-known Wellington launch. She has a length of 25 feet [7.6 m], and a beam of 6ft 2in [1.9 m], and is fitted with an eight horse-power [8 kW] engine.

The crew of three had some exciting experiences. The engine was rendered useless by a sea that swamped the launch, and they were tossed like a cork for six days and nights on stormy Cook Strait. After watching #SteamboatWillie and the first #Micky #cartoon but third released Plane Crazy. I can see now why #Disney didn't bother to fight to extend its copyright laws. It had zero cultural relevance in the modern era. Mickey is an asshole, who makes early Bugs Bunny look like a nice guy. Animal abuse, weird obsession with nipples on animals, In Plane crazy, he gets mad because #Minnie wont give him a kiss, then purposely drives dangerously putting her in serious danger, laughs at her and uses it as a threat to try and get a kiss to the point that she bails out of the plain. Huge obsession in both shows with her underwear.
Disney doesn't need this copyright anymore because it already has #Trademark for most of the Mickey mouse branding. Any use of this version of #MickeyMouse Will have to be covered in an insane number of labels telling people this is not a Disney product to prevent a trademark lawsuit. Disney is missing literally nothing by losing this property to public domain. I have a feeling the #copyright extension laws had much more to do what is coming into public domain in 8 years. #SnowWhite which is a fully comprehensive movie that would have gone into #publicdomain 17 years ago had they not extended it. I could see them and say DC comics try and extend them again in8 years as Superman and Batman are also coming down the pike as their copyrights run out.
