Looks like next weeks Classic Car show in #Milngavie will be a wash out weather wise which is a great shame as last year was sun city and a lovely day out. Fingers crossed the #Strathaven Balloon Festival gets good weather this year (August) as last year it was called off. #Glasgow #Scotland

Love this carved and painted wooden bench which has been recently installed by the pond at Milngavie's Community Education Centre.

A wooden bench decorates with painted carvinga of local wildlife, including an otter, a heron and dragonflies.

The site of the original department store is now occupied by the Sauchiehall Centre, which once had its own distinctive clock hanging inside, featuring automatons that moved around on the hour. I often wonder what happened to that clock as it was always a favourite of mine as a child.

The Copland and Lye Clock on Main Street in Milngavie. This clock originally hung on the Copland and Lye's Caledonia House Department Store on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow. It closed in 1971 and was demolished soon after. The clock was saved and was given to Milngavie Town Council, who refurbished it and installed it at its current location.

Autumn today reflected in the mirror-calm waters of Mugdock Reservoir on the outskirts of Glasgow. Built in 1856, this reservoir created as part of a system designed during the Victorian era to provide clean, fresh water from Loch Katrine, around forty miles away in the hills of the Trossachs, to Glasgow. The same system still provides the city with water to this day.

Love this 1904 Art Nouveau style drinking fountain at the Mugdock Reservoir on the outskirts of Glasgow, especially the water spirit and the mermaid on either side of the original tap location. It's dedicated to James M. Gale of the Glasgow Corporation Water Department.
