whilst it's becoming generally "cleverer" -- do we need this from a music-engraver-cum-player -? -- I do find that the later editions are become /slightly/ enshittified.
not to mention that in adding new things they keep breaking old things. I've been on it since V1.
[ before you go on to the suggestion below, have a go at this quicker fix: GIVE EACH OF YOUR DOTTED QUAVERS A STACCATO ', or even staccatissimo ^ ..... I think this has fixed other issues for e in the past] ... reason, many instruments may be letting the note ring-on after the marked length
I suggest you go back a few releases and check if this was happening back then.
I've made a few attempts to unpick midi and make it into readable notation over the years, but it's usually stuff like joining long strings of tied notes.
A work around could be inserting a demi-semi-quaver -- here I get the point of US terminology -- a 32nd note with the amplitude property set to 0. You could probably give it a custom note head and hide the rest in you notation to make it understandable.
