Il y a quelques années, les directions prises par le projet #MapsMe avaient créé des discordes 💔, ce qui avait débouché sur un fork 🔀 nommé #OrganicMaps.

Aujourd'hui, #OrganicMaps rencontre des soucis de transparence et de gouvernance 💼, entrainant à son tour un fork 🔀, baptisé @CoMaps.

⚠️ Si, dès le départ, #MapsMe avait été un logiciel propriétaire, tout le monde aurait été pieds et poings liés ⛓️.

So I've been giving Organic Maps another try and it's like... not as bad as it felt the first few times around. Its not the most intuitive but it pretty much maps me correctly (actually sometimes better than Magic Maps.) I would not prob recommend for ppl who struggle with tech but for lightly skilled ppl (like me) is fine.

I mean, the TTS is laughably bad at least for the recommended TTS app but robot Scottish is growing on me so yeah. And no traffic info totally suuuuuuuucks but eh, I sort of like the FOSS thing.

But serioz can I get traffic alerts? Pls?

@mfuhrmann The #OrganicMaps Android app worked pretty well for me long as I stayed close to home, but when I tried to get directions to a location in New York it wanted to direct me to West 13th Street in West Chester PA instead and didn't offer me the option to download maps for New York or the Jersey turnpike in between.
