On the left-hand side of the figure, a bifurcation diagram shows the emergence of a Maxwell point. In the right-hand side of the figure, six panels, arranged in two rows of three, show the time evolution of the spatial patterns fromed by a generalized Swift-Hohenberg model, evolving at the Maxwell point and around it, with two different boundary conditions. The panels at the sides, corresponding to parameters around the Maxwell point, show the emergence of classic two-state chimeras, with the final state of the system consisting of a uniform domain and a separate striped domain. 27 h very well spent in #Cologne - gave a seminar talk at the #Biology department of #Uni #Köln, discussed #patternformation and data until brains were fried and got a wonderful city tour the next morning. Good people, good food, good spirit. Went home feeling so grateful, appreciated and inspired 😇🥰

Also leaving this here for the next time I don't feel so good about this whole science thing 🫠 feeling a sense of community within the work we do might really make the difference ✊️
