I don't think any country in the world has achieved gender pay equity.
I know this has affected me greatly because in the US, the amount you get on disability insurance is figured off of your contributions from your pay, it's relative to your pay. Same with unemployment insurance. So women (and other groups paid inequitably) suffer TWICE.

You'd think that a government this excited about capitalism and markets would look at jobs that are hard to fill and their very first thought would be "we need to raise pay". That's the most basic demand curve out of introductory economics. It literally doesn't get simpler than that.
Legislating to lower wages *and* piss people off by sabotaging negotiations that are already in progress is hypocritical and stupid. On brand, though.
Pay equity is a trust issue. When gaps persist, teams lose engagement and retention suffers. In 2026, transparency and consistency are key to closing the gap.
Pay equity means equal pay for equal work, regardless of gender, race, or other non-job-related factors. It's crucial for fairness and inclusion in the workplace!

➡️ Importance: Eliminates wage discrimination and promotes diversity.
