Woah!
#forschungsfrei #phdlife #itsajourney
FINISHED MY ABSTRACT! It is in for review 767 words long and I ended it with a question about when do we do something about climate change? #PhDLife
Had to stop working on my thesis today to
work on my abstract. My supervisor needs it done ASAP. Now, how to fit a thesis into 300 words? #PhDLife
Meeting with supervisor was good. He has stretched my time line though, he is on leave a lot lately and has to deal with stuff from his Dad's estate (his dad died just before Christmas) #PhDLife
Going to have coffee with my supervisor this morning. First day back on campus! #PhDLife
Nearly Midnight: I want to continue working on the thesis, but I need to sleep #PhDLife
Plan for thesis tonight is NO writing. Just a assessment of what needs to be done. I feel like I am being bogged down and getting stuck in detail that doesn't matter much. Do the big grammatical edit later. I am so very close! #PhDLife
Not to brag or anything but I did catch an error while going through proofs, about three seconds AFTER I hit submit. #PhDLife #AcademicSky #YouCanNoLongerMakeEdits
I have added poetry in my climate focused thesis!
βI love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains
Of ragged mountain ranges
Of droughts and flooding rainsβ

I was planning on taking a break this week but I feel like dipping into my thesis today. Maybe one hour π₯° #PhDLife
No meme today. A historical question about mathematics: For centuries, we assumed the sign of numbers was fixed. It wasnβt. This video summarizes a historical path that leads to Multisign Algebra. The full mathematical treatment is available in the arXiv preprint linked via the QR code.

I have been revising my thesis manuscript this week and it feels exhausting to rewrite/reformulate the text. Even I am exhausted by this work, I really appreciate the commenting my supervisor has made and it helps to make my work better. At least I hope so.
