I did something pretty cool today! Set up Google Drive API, so I can sync my screenshots automatically to Google Drive.
Yeah you're right that's one of the reasons I use #UBports #UbuntuTouch as my daily driver. But I've been experimenting with #pmos on my old phone because I like the idea of getting mainline Linux working properly on a phone, and #pmos is so *nearly* there, yet so far away because hardly anyone wants a smartphone without working cameras
A different approach but on #UBports #ubuntutouch the camera works well.
What doesn't help is that #ubuntutouch and #postmarketos have an incompatible situation. I love #Lomiri but I need pmos apps!

maybe you can help with that: besides #Fairphone model 2 to 6, which other mobile phones, or tablets are sold without a vendor lock-in to allow other operating systems like #UbuntuTouch ? 🤔
I am back on the stock #fairphone5 rom after trying #ubuntutouch on it. I got #WayDroid working thanks to the helper in the #openstore but #whatsapp detected the unusual setup and wanted me to add it as a secondary device (it's my main one). My thoughts on the stock rom are that it's full of #google #bloatware and the #youtube app is riddled with ads which make watching videos impossible. #revanced to the rescue

My test running Ubuntu Touch on my Pixel 3a XL as my primary phone continues. I received an MMS for the first time today. Instead of displaying the MMS, the default Ubuntu Touch messaging app told me it could not be downloaded. I tried fiddling with the APN settings to no avail. Then I found the solution in a long UBports forum thread titled No MMS with Wifi ON. I read the thread and tried the recommended solution of turning wifi off and then downloading the message. This worked. However, I agree with a number of commenters in the thread that (1) MMS should ideally work with wifi on and (2) at a minimum, the error message should note that MMS does not work with WiFi on (unless your phone is receiving internet from another device via mobile hotspot). Of course, I cannot receive MMS on my Pixel 6a (running GrapheneOS) with WiFi calling on, so MMS may indeed be a complicated issue.
