And that's with being stuck with La Reine Margot by Dumas for about 2 months (I've liked it a lot, but I've had a lot to do in these final months of uni).
So, uh, for some technical books, err, I have taken to read them back to front. Sometimes by chapter, sometimes by section. When there's a glossary at the back or appendices, yeah, I skim those first.
Am I a monster?
I have committed a grave mistake. I started a five-book series in which there is no recap or gap between books, and ONLY TWO BOOKS HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED.
By the time the next book comes out my brain would have leaked all the pertinent stuff 😭

I want to read but my brain is fried. Our AC isn’t on yet so I spent the last 3 days hot and uncomfortable. The kid (3) and I slept for 3 hours this afternoon because we’re still recovering. We’re such winter babies.
3 was also EXHAUSTING. If I had a dollar for every time I said no, stop it, or don’t touch that, I could afford a new minivan. My brain is tired

My friend was complaining about a rude customer yesterday and he said, “She was shaped like a problem,” and then went into a description of her sharp edges and “I need to speak to your manager” haircut.
