Twitter (is it even called that way anymore?) keeps getting weirder and weirder (to put it mildly). Yet, everytime I log on, determined to delete my account, I discover another reading researcher whom I'd really like to follow and who isn't on Mastodon. I've learned from my friend that the first post needs to introduce myself. But I'll promote our recent article on #readingresearch, which I'm so excited about. Hello #fediverse. I'm working on a paper on changes in home literacy environments during COVID. I've been reading a ton of papers on impacts of school closures on student outcomes, but haven't found any specifically focused on the UK, Ireland, or New Zealand. Any dons know of such papers?

I wrote a short response to Huettig & Ferreira's "The myth of normal reading", "To the defense of reading research...": https://edarxiv.org/7u9my/. There are many points worth discussion, I focussed only on the question of whether the issues they raise are a problem for all types of #dyslexia and #ReadingResearch.
