At some point... I was preparing retrobrighting many many yellowed plastics from my machines... It took 2 days... #retrogeek #retrocomputing #retrobright #retr0bright .

I exposed the reactor core once again to rearrange the parts.

Now the front part is face down, fully covered by peroxide but not lit by UV. Will it still get brighter this way?

The bottom part is still half covered, and will need to be flipped every few hours.

I could just add tap water to rise the level, but it would also dilute the solution, and I still want to #retrobright the #Amiga 3000
front panel and the mouse later.

Working on my Hello Kitty #dreamcast, was in the #retrobright vaporbox for 12 hours, but not much effect. Maybe the hydrogen peroxide has expired? Would have had it in there for longer but wanted to test the box with a Gamecube shell. #retrorevival #retrogaming #sega

#retrobright one of my #Amiga 600 cases today using hair dye.

UV-Index was high here today therefore I just put it outside and let "the magic" happen.

I think the outcome is quite okay.

Same Amiga 600 case as before but now much brighter instead of "yellowed".

Amiga 600 case in a box with aluminum foil. The case itself is wrapped in transparent foil and wet with hair dye. The case is yellowed over time.

That’s way too many keys for a Saturday evening project, I already started in the morning disassembling the keyboard and bleaching it outside in the sunny weather. But it took all night to clean each single key and put it back with the spring underneath. 🤷‍♂️ 😓
Now we have an even shade of gray again.

Apple IIgs screen. No amount of #retrobright would have saved this one. The crust on it was unbelievable. Took 0000 steel wool and a LOT of scrubbing and a LOT of patience for this one...
