Major resize of a 2nd hand dress that was great in every other way for the bride.
I had to add at both the side seams and the back zipper to get the needed circumference at their ribs.
Then the illusion mesh needed to be reduced along with shortening the back button line by 4 buttons and loops.
I then had to add in some extra illusion mesh- taken from the front hem - to fill in the missing circumference where the bodice and mesh would meet and use some of the dress lace plus extra from my stash to cover the seams.

@sinituulia Wool is great! There are quite a few niche producers in Australia and New Zealand making good quality, machine washable, sustainable wool garments, including underwear. New Zealanders specialise in blended merino and possum wool garments. Lightweight but incredibly warm, and low pilling. (Possums are a feral species in New Zealand.)

I’ll be posting more photos, but this was a white silk jersey (old sample) that’s been worn to death & yellowed from being left in the sun. Alteria Studio dyed it and few other things. I’m going to do a whole write up and add to my upcycling idea book. But I’m just thrilled with the results to be able to salvage this piece which has a lot of life left in it. #upcycle #reuse #rewear
