Talk Talk / The Colour Of Spring (1986); Perfektes Artwork, vollkommener Klang, eine Band im Einklang mit sich selbst – und die Jahreszeit, in der alles blüht. "The Colour of Spring" atmet Wärme, Natürlichkeit und eine feine Liebe zum Detail, weit entfernt vom kühlen Glanz der frühen Jahre. #TalkTalk #MarkHollis #PaulWebb #RustinMan #PostRock #AmbientRock #ArtRock #DreamPop

God knows how I adore life
When the wind turns on the shores lies another day
I cannot ask for more
When the time bell blows my heart
And I have scored a better day
Well nobody made this war of mine
And the moments that I enjoy
A place of love and mystery
I'll be there anytime...
Talk Talk - The Color of Spring
Talk Talk pivoted hard into “real” instruments here, with a really great set of songs, a couple of key session players (Steve Winwood, Robbie McIntosh, David Rhodes), and an open, lovely production style.
Probably their most approachable album, with their hit “Life’s What You Make It”, which was pretty ubiquitous for a while…

You probably know Beth Gibbons as the singer, lyricist, and soul of the English trip-hop trio Portishead. She later released an album with Talk Talk’s bassist Paul Webb a.k.a. Rustin Man as well. All of that is outstanding, highly original, and always moving music.
But did you know that she also recorded “Symphony No. 3” by Polish composer Henryk Górecki? Well, I sure didn’t, but she did, together with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra and conductor Krzysztof Penderecki, a famous composer in his own right from the European country.
The live recordings were filmed, parts are on YouTube, and I urge you to watch and listen. Words fail to describe this miracle.

As a bonus track, why don’t you listen to Beth Gibbon and Rustin Man’s performance of their album “Out of Season” at Swiss Paléo Festival in 2003, with a complete band setup full of sonic suprises; violin, melodica, pump organ, accordion, to mention a few.

Today's random #Discogs choice Rustin Man and Clockdust 2020. I've tried and failed with this album on numerous occasions. His voice is very much an acquired taste. I'm going to give it one more go during my A-Z play until a final decision is made on its fate.

Today's random #Discogs choice Rustin Man and Drift Code 2019. Folky/Progy is the best description for this, and his voice is very much an acquired taste. An interesting album, favourite track Our Tomorrows.

Starting off a bit melancholy with Out of Season by Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man (aka Paul Webb from Talk Talk).
Always interesting to hear a distinctive voice in a different context...and while Talk Talk is gone, Rustin Man carries on.
It's a great album.
