'Rex and the Galactic Plague' is a vertically scrolling shooter developed with the help of the Scorpion Engine. The "final" demo version now released contains three playable levels and shows the current status after the developer had to make quote some changes to make the title playable from floppy discs.
Utopia Must Fall from developer Pixeljam has absolutely absorbed my attention recently. It's easily one of the best modern arcade shoot 'em ups I've ever played with a great moody atmosphere.
