1 box of silence and peace of mind, please.
My last PSU's fan had a bearing defect and occasionally made unbearable squeaky noise🙉 Then it went silent for months🤷♂️ The last time it made noise I finally placed this order. #LinusTechTips might have influenced my choice for #Seasonic to be honest.
My first ever modular PSU. What a pleasure to install! 🤗
I would install a graphics card in my PC just for the occasional game, except it would ruin the whole concept of a completely #silentPC with zero moving parts. #0dBA #fanless
Even if I could managed to get a #PassivelyCooled graphics card, it would block the airflow, because it sticks out 90 deg from the motherboard. My open air case does have a card cage to twist it 90 degrees that I can install, but still.
Might need a new PSU, too. Mine is only 500 W (Seasonic Prime TX-500 Fanless)

I discovered today that the PC I built last year can apparently handle six simultaneous instances of #BlueStacks running #DanMemo at 60 FPS without melting down. The system is a Z690 chipset with a Core i5-12600K using the integrated Intel UHD 770 GPU, undervolted by -120 mV, a Noctua NH-P1 passive cooler (fanless open case #silentPC), 32 GB DDR5 RAM. CPU temps and GPU temps are not even hot, around 50°C. GPU utilization maxes out around 85%. All this time, I've been babying it. #gaming
It's that time of the decade that I need to buy a new PC. The 5 year old one is still fine, but my oldest son has confiscated it, and my youngest son keeps bringing friends to play Roblox or Minecraft, and my laptop is struggling with Factorio, so we need a new PC.
I did my usual thing of researching the current tech and components, posting my selection on a PC builders forum, and expecting some feedback, but I'm not getting any. No idea what I'm doing wrong. But because of that, I'm not going to bore all of you with my plans.
The parts list: nl.pcpartpicker.com/user/mcvos…
My goal is a PC that's powerful, versatile, quiet, energy efficient, and reliable enough to last me 10 years. So I want reliable, quiet, energy efficient components that give a lot of power per Watt.
In the comments I'll discuss my reasoning behind some of the individual components. If you've got some better suggestions or any remarks at all, feel free to add them.
Also, no Windows any more for me. This is going to be a Linux gaming machine.
