Hat jemand von euch mal #Tricount als europäische Alternative zu #Splitwise ausgetestet? Taugt das was?
(Nehme auch gerne Tipps für andere Optionen aus der EU an)

It seems like there's two options basically for a SplitWise alternative that's open-source and self-hostable:

• spliit
• SplitPro

The issue is Split Pro requires some kind of third-party authentication provider for creating user accounts, which is annoying.

And Spliit requires, I guess like an older version of Docker or Podman or something?? Because it doesn't seem to work with newer versions... I can't get it to work.

Spliit is nicer because it doesn't need user accounts, but is also mildly frustrating in that it only supports ChatGPT API calls for OCR... tesseract is right there!!!

Are there any #PersonalFinance #ExpenseTracking apps or tools out there that combine traditional expense tracking with whatever it is that #Splitwise does?

I want to be able to record my expenses, see how much I owe others, and how much they owe me, and get a feel for all of my accounts. Does anything like this exist?

Хочу порадити дуже корисну програму для спільних витрат #Splitwise. Коли їдете на відпочинок, створюєте групу витрат та додаєте туди усіх учасників. Потім кожен може вносити витрати (паливо, їжа, ресторан, тощо) та вказувати хто ще має розділити з вами ці витратами. Є можливість додати фото чека, щоб не виникало у інших учасників питань. Кожний може подивитись скільки він та йому винні та на при кінці спільного відпочинку розрахуватись/отримати компенсацію за спільні витрати.
Без цієї програми вести фінанси в чартері було б дуже складно. Наприклад мені треба було розділити платіж за паливо 233 євро на 8 людей при чому кожен був різну кількість днів на яхті, тобто ділити порочну не дуже справедливо. Але у програмі є можливість ділити платіж по часткам (я прийняв 1 частку за один день та вказав скільки часток приходиться на кожного).
Безкоштовна версія має обмеження але якщо кожен заносить свої втрати кожен день, то цього повністю вистачає

#Splitwise is officially dead to me. Haven't set it up in ages and just now tried to get it going only to come to a limit of how many transactions I can do on the free tier. Which is hilariously headache inducing.

Ever since #SplitWise started forcing my friends to sign up for a premium account ($40 a year!) just to essentially use the app for a single group trip I've been on the hunt for an alternate.

I don't understand how it's ok to charge $40? Do people actually pay this?? The app essentially becomes useless once you add more than 3 expenses a day.

Sure it's a little rough and not quite as full featured but guess what? It's free. Open source. Not riddled with God knows what kind of tracking and I'm fairly certain it doesn't currently sell my data.

Finding expense-sharing app for Android was unexpectedly difficult.

First idea was to use #Cospend on #Nextcloud and #MoneyBuster. Funnily on my degoogled phone all worked well, but on Samsung connecting to server was impossible.

Cospend on mobile firefox was ok from my side, but strangely unusable on Samsung.

#TravelSpend on my phone could not connect to shared project.

#Splitwise didnt offer nice stats even in paid version.

Ugh.

Finally settled on #Sesterce, which does it all well.

Ok I have to complain again. #Splitwise, I nice, useful app is now going the enshittification route. Recently, they added a wait time for recording payments. Ok I can live with that. It is supremely annoying but it is ok. Now they added a limit on how many transactions you can record per day. And you know what really grinds my gears?
They could have easily gotten me to spend money on their pro subscription if they would have just communicated these changes and said they are a small team with rising expenses. But nothing.

Kann wer ein Tool ähnlich wie #splitwise empfehlen. Anforderung wäre möglichst wenig Aufwand für die Gruppe (keine extra Accounts), ein Admin, der Rest kann eintragen ohne nen Account? #tools
