Hi Mastodon tech people. I've been looking for a simple survey tool for two quick polls for my family. Looked up opensource alternatives to Survey Monkey but none of them (LimeSurvey, JD Survey, Quick Survey or TellForm seem appropriate. I don't want to run a server or customize any code. I just want something really really basic like Survey Monkey offers for free. Any suggestions?

FB had a poll. It was not subtle as to who was asking the questions. The bulk of it was about Hamas/anti-semitism and party views. Each section asked the same questions in different ways to screen who i am and where I am.I think the GOP is honing in on the key words to use to manipulate swing voters. Für nicht-datenschutzfreundlich nehmen wir #surveymonkey als willkürliches Beispiel. Wenn Leute gemeinsam eine Umfrage nutzen, bleibt diese Info nicht bei dieser US-Firma alleine, sondern informiert immer auch #google, #cloudfront, #onetrust und weitere Drittfirmen.

- the "free" refers to the web connector allowing you access your #SurveyMonkey data without having to take up the package where you explicitly pay for #Api calls

Does anyone know an easy way to create a chart in #Excel that shows BOTH percentages and absolute values? My data is from #SurveyMonkey, but it will only let me export a chart that shows respondent number OR percentages. Basically, all I want to do is have the y-axis be percentages but each column’s data labels include both percentages and values.
Does anyone know a better survey tool than survey monkey? The IPs they use are block listed - sending to spam. For one survey a year to a small number of users, I don’t want to use their enterprise plan 🙄#survey #email #surveymonkey

Forms lets you create your own online surveys with all kinds of questions (multiple choice, text boxes, calendars, buttons, dropdowns etc).
Because it runs entirely on your Nextcloud, the data never goes anywhere else, and there are no ads or trackers.
It's a good privacy-friendly alternative to Google Forms or SurveyMonkey.

LimeSurvey allows users to quickly create intuitive, powerful online forms and surveys that can work for anyone from small business to large business. The survey software is self-guiding for the respondents. They have a cloud hosted option with free and paid tiers, much the same as SurveyMonkey, but there is also the Community Edition which is fully free and open source software which you can self-host. Apart from the freedoms that brings, it also means that any respondent data is also free from tracking and data mining by any 3rd parties.
In this video I tour through a sample survey that I created, where I run through the survey options, I also show how easily a new survey with questions can be started, and I end off with a run through the various general menu configuration options.
