Spontaneous trips are the best trips. I’ve had this week booked off work since March but with no plans. On Thursday I decided not to waste it and booked a ferry. Arrived today. You only have one life, right? 🙂

I’m off to The Lakes in the morning for 8 glorious nights of doing nothing at all. Taking The Boy for the first three. He’s super excited about his “#camping adventure with grandma”.

Grandma has checked the forecast and it’s going to piss down. Happy bloody birthday to us both.

Glad I didn’t take that rain cover off the #Tentbox now.

Or at least I was, until I realised there’s a #TentboxTakeover event this weekend at the place I’d decided to go in Wales.

Fortunately it’s huge and the takeover is just on one of the three levels, so I may still find that peace that I’m seeking. 🤞🏼

You know that thing that #VWCamper owners do, that little flash of the headlights or wave to each other? Complete strangers bound together by nothing more than a #campervan?

Well I discovered today that it’s apparently a thing between #TentBox owners too.

I couldn’t help smiling at the wave of acknowledgment from the driver of another vehicle with a TentBox on their roof this afternoon. Apparently I’m a member of a little club I didn’t know about. 🙂

At least I hope it’s a club. #NotACult

#Day251 of #365HappyDays : I’ve had to walk a mile in the rain and the dark to get phone signal to post this, but this is home for the week and I couldn’t be happier.

Earlier #today than usual because I’ve been off work and somewhat productive, #Day230 of #365HappyDays is a photo of the #TentBox with my newly installed ventilation mat, fitted sheet and thermal lining.

I genuinely didn’t realise how cold it was outside when I was inside it fitting it to the bars! I am especially happy with the extra zips that mean I can still open the windows and skylight if I want to.

Some days are more difficult than others when all I’ve literally done is sleep and work. I did receive a delivery today though, so my #Day227 of #365HappyDays goes to #TentBox and the accessories I’ve purchased to improve my #winter #camping experience later this month.

Headed over to Braemar last night for an overnighter in my #tentbox to allow for an early start today; 42km covered in eight and a half hours taking in two #munros. First up was Càrn an Fidhleir; had a dotterel keep me company for a few km as well! #munrobagging #walkhighlands

Spent the past few months working on our camper-ish van and finally took it out for a spin last night. Lovely campsite and the set up worked really well. Learnt a few things we need to tweak before we go on our 5-night Welsh coastal tour in June as well.
