The 938 kilometres long Kali River originates at Kalapani in #Himalayas & becomes #ShardaRiver at #Tanakpur
The river is part of the #GangaRiver Basin & is the border between #India #Nepal
At the border town of Banbasa in #Terai this river branches into the (video) 44.3 kilometres long #ShardaCanal which irrigates 15 districts of #Uttrakhand, #UttarPradesh & is shared with Nepal as per the Mahakali Treaty.
It was built by #BritishInIndia during 1918-28
It passes through #PilibhitTigerReserve
This 'Machan' at #PilibhitTigerReserve is not a lookout for #Tigers but serves as an observation post to detect forest-fires.
A romantic getaway near the #BrarBrothers farms at #Puranpur in the #Pilibhit district of #Terai region of #UttarPradesh #India
The #ShardaCanal flows along the road.
The entry to the forest is restricted to protect the #Wildlife which includes #Leopards #Pythons #Bears #Deers #Crocodiles etc.
A Leopard may have disappointed us by appearing late evening (too dark for #photography) but this #Tiger delighted us by marking its presence early in the morning.
It raises it's tail to urinate to mark it's territory.
This is the restricted #PilibhitTigerReserve (we had entry permit) & close to #BrarBrothers farm at #Puranpur in the #Pilibhit district of #Terai #UttarPradesh #India

Once again an opportunity came knocking at my door.
So, leaving #Delhi #NewDelhi, here I am on way to #BrarBrothers farms at #Puranpur in #Pilibhit district of #Terai region of #UttarPradesh
The first rural (and unique) sight is this Wheat Straw (turi) Storage Cones dotting the landscape.
