Taking some notes in #typst. By now I can realize some things, only to discover that I don't know how I exactly want them. E.g. spacing around the colon in a definition of a map? Colon to close to phi? Can you say what you want from first principles and without checking \colon in LaTeX?

Taking some notes in #typst today and starting to pay attention to details. I'm at this point where I know how to realize some things in typst, but then discover that I don't know how I exactly want them. For example, how do I actually want the spacing around the colon in a definition of a map?

This looks too close to the phi or not?

If you are anwering, please do so without using \colon in LaTeX and looking how it is there. Try to answer from first principles.

@steffo Recently I wrote my Masters thesis with typst.
It was a bliss to work with #typst compared to Latex.

I used emacs to write it using #orgmode
Within 1 day I learnt its syntax and it was so easy to understand the docs and get go.

For issues or setting some things, you might usually find answers from GH issues and forum.
But these days they use discord as main channel for support.

typst has been very nice to use so far

hope it doesn't give me trouble once i'm almost done with writing the thesis

Annopuncing an (almost) non-botched 3.2.0 release of the wastebin #pastebin: Besides *nix binaries for targets other than musl Linux, there is support for the Catppuccin color scheme (go read through what hoops the author had to go through) and additional syntax (#typst, yeah), you can bind to Unix domain sockets instead of TCP sockets, expirations can be specified with magnitudes other than seconds and some UI paper cuts have been fixed.

Normalerweise kommen am Sonntagmorgen hier die Boosts meiner eigenen Beiträge der vergangenen Woche. Heute habe ich aber gar nichts - die #DnD Woche war sehr ruhig. Ich habe nur Kleinigkeiten in den #typst Charakterbögen von @honze_net und @glutfuchs gemacht (https://wiki.pnpde.social/books/freies-material/page/charakterbogen) , sowie im Maschinenraum von :pnpde_social: pnpde.social an den S3 Buckets geschraubt. Das ist nicht so sichtbar, aber auch interessant 🙂
