The Video Game History Foundation opened up digital access to a large portion of its massive archives today, offering access to information from the past 50 years.
"Today's launch of the VGHF Library comprises more than 30,000 indexed and curated files, including high-quality artwork, promotional material, and searchable full-text archives - over 1,500 video game magazine issues. This initial dump of digital materials also contains never-before-seen game development and production archival material stored by the VGHF, such as over 100 hours of raw production files from the creation of the Myst series or Sonic the Hedgehog concept art and design files contributed by artist Tom Payne."

Already using https://archive.gamehistory.org/ to dig up stuff on locative games. So far, I've found a half-page marketing thing on The Shroud, a page on how Pokemon Go was changing laws, and an acknowledgement that Botfighters existed. Still plenty of stuff to search for.
The Video Game History Foundation (#VGHF) is making its digital library system available to the public for the first time next week.
"The Video Game History Foundation announced it will be launching its digital library platform later this month with "never-before-seen game development materials", as well as "artwork, press kits, and promo materials from iconic video games". The library will also allow readers to access 1,500 out-of-print videogame magazines stretching back to the early 1980s.
The magazine library will be fully text searchable, organisable by chronology, and allow users to filter mags by region, platform, publisher, and more."
