I was squinting really hard at the files extracted from #Nintendo #Wii #VirtualConsole version of California Games.
I was like "Wait, why is one of the files called 'califo.games_rem'. That file name doesn't really make sense. ...Wait. is that 'rem' a group tag or something? Could this be the main program??"
Drop the file to C64 emulator.

Nintendo didn't have the cojones to make this the first thing that will be loaded by the Virtual Console emulator, obviously. Cowards.

Cleaning up my system I stumbled across the PICO-8 virtual game console I bought many years ago. So I updated it to the latest version and checked some of the virtual cartridges available for it ... still such a great system ...

I love how Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins establishes that Mario rules over his own island (creatively named Mario Land), castle and all. :neodog_box:
In any case, I just beat it for the first time! I played it as a kid, on a friend's Game Boy, so it was nice to revisit those memories. :neodog__w_: It was shorter than expected, but still a good time.
And, of course, you get to have rabbit ears, so it is the best game. :neodog_hug_bun:

As long as I'm installing Virtual Console games on my Wii U today, I thought to throw on Alien Crush and Devil's Crush for the PC Engine. Like many people in North America, I never had much exposure to these titles, but I'd heard a lot about Devil's Crush especially in the intervening decades.
Alien Crush is good virtual pinball with a cool, Geiger-esque setting. Devil's Crush is *great*, creepy and fascinating with an excellent soundtrack.
Aber ich habe auch ein Grund endlich mal alle Teile nachzuholen die ich noch nie gespielt habe. Und darauf freue ich mich besonders.
Starten tue ich aktuell mit einen Teil von #PokemonX um die Tauschfunktion freizuschalten mit den alten #VirtualConsole spielen.
Um mir legitime #FirstGen #Pokemons von Gen1 über Gen6 zu #PokemonBank und schließlich #PokemonHome transferieren zu können.
I was totally not aware the Virtual Console line of downloadable games, probably because I'm only get my 3DS little before the service was shut down. It's a shame there were no Virtual Boy games among them, otherwise it had a couple of classic from previous Nintendo game consoles and even from the PC Engine, although only in Japan only.
In Virtual Console games there is a bunch of excellent classic that could have been played directly on the 3DS.

It's a #GameBoy DX rom file, so it'll run on any hardware variant. It even has a special background for the Super Game Boy!
I'm playing it on a #3DS, injected as a #VirtualConsole title. It plays great, the controls are perfect (as you want for a Tetris game), with good block patterns and colors.
And, the Kraken's eye goes wide whenever you slap down its tentacle, and its expression is never not funny to see.
Before the #eShop closes for old consoles at 5pm PDT, I will have every #Nintendo3DS and #VirtualConsole #Pokémon mainline game. Funds have been added, now to see how fast these purchases can go through. As a wise person once said, I gotta catch ‘em all, Arceus-willing. Pray for my little 3DS and my home Wi-Fi.
