Sadly that also does happen in Iceland.
However the nation's previous President decided that he would rather go and work as a national park ranger this summer (during winter time he is a professor of history at the national university).
This just feels too wholesome not to share.

The article on the above link appears to show that the amount of energy for AI is very high.
As the paper notes, the average smartphone uses 0.012 kWh to charge — so generating one image using AI can use almost as much energy as charging your smartphone.
It will be interesting to understand how future energy demand will be managed.

Two weeks ago we canceled our plans to visit family in Texas in autumn, it just doesn't feel right, and it doesn't feel safe anymore.
