A key part of the New York City mayoral races was Ranked Choice Voting.
I'm not seeing many news articles mention this yet (correct me if I'm wrong though!).
Ranked choice let's us vote first for who we actually want.... and then put in backup votes for "good enough" candidates and allows us to compromise and find common ground.
It destroys the concepts of "lesser of two evils" and "throwing away your vote".
I hope we see Ranked Choice voting everywhere.

Language is important. When corporate companies own the names of the tasks or the digital items you create, you have become a cog in their branding machine.
I've been increasingly feeling bad about working in tech. It's always been capitalist, but it's embarrasingly turned into a field that actively and shamelessly contributes to wars, environmental harms and a wide range of human rights violations. We desperately need better leaders, and really think individually what we're comfortable contributing to.
