A C64 had about 0,2 CPU cycles per pixel. Modern Computers are roughly 20 times as fast (considering a 4K display compared to the 320x200 back then). Precise calculations may vary.
I wonder if the C64 will finally fade out when all we first-time-owners from the 1980ies die away some day.
I had an epiphany today: Mastodon is my makerspace. I haven't been able to find a makerspace in this area since we moved here in '22, and that's been bugging me. But I scroll through Mastodon and see people's printing, woodworking, electronics, and welding projects, and I admire them, and sometimes I ask questions and learn new techniques. And when I post my own, people do the same.
That's a makerspace.

Okay, now at age #$31 I have the tools and understand mainly all the docs for assembly programming of the 6510. My MMXXIV-Version of a moonlander is growing in pure assembly. Very nice to learn and finally understand raster line interrupts, keyboard matrix and timing. Next level: signed 8bit/16bit arithmetics.
Nervous System is a strange business. We are a computational design and digital fabrication studio known for things like a no-assembly 3D printed dress or designing 3D printed organs.
However neither of those things actually make any money. Monetarily we are primarily a jigsaw puzzle company. How did that happen?
