Yes. Velocity can be cached. However, C4D Pyro caches a single vector velocity channel. (x, y, z in one channel)

In comparison,
XP caches in discreet velocity channels (velocity_x, velocity_y, velocity_z)

TFD caches in a single channel in it's native .bcf format but can be split to discreet channels, which it names (velocity.x etc...), when converting them to .vdb using it's bcf2vdb.exe commandline app.

I wonder how Embergen and Houdini write and name their VDB channels.
