I believe in you. look up "metasploit" to get started.
I drink Huel and Soylent.
I'm a leftist.
I organize along side vegans.
Most of my work is in food solidarity/mutual aid.
I've been blocked or banned by countless vegans over time for not being compelled by their arguments. I do think the topic is interesting: it touches on ethics, economics, philosophy of science, environmentalism, nutrition, and maybe a dozen or a hundred other topics.
So I love talking about it.
Block me if you're a vegan and can't stand being challenged.

@mfierst as for the methane emissions, i think that methodology is sound. i have doubts, however, about the broader ghg emissions.
my go-to example of this is cottonseed. cotton is grown for textiles. most of the cottonseed would be industrial waste, but we feed it to cattle. now every acre of cotton is considered a feed crop for teh purpose of calculating water, land, and ghg statistics, but that's not fundamentally true: cotton is a textile crop.
this misattribution is rife in these studies
@alexl but why didn't going vegan stop the climate catastrophe? why should i believe that if i go vegan, it would?
@ivy
didn't you try stopping eating meat?
that's not very effective.
"World's war on greenhouse gas emissions has a military blind spot" —
"Among the world's biggest consumers of fuel, militaries account for 5.5% of global #GreenhouseGas emissions, according to a 2022 estimate...
But defence forces are not bound by international #climate agreements to report or cut their #carbon #emissions, and the data that is published by some militaries is unreliable or incomplete at best, scientists and academics say."

@utopiaburns we can converse without namecalling
i'm not ignoring any facts. you seem to be ignoring the fact that the dairy industry cares for millions of cattle, so a few thousand are a rounding error.
@utopiaburns your links don't have any statistics, but i know what the usda numbers say.
the vast majority of dairy calves are brought to full weight before slaughter. rarely are they kliled within days of being born.
If you want people to #ditchdairy, #govegan and #EndAnimalAg then you should probably provide some evidence for your claims.
A #plantbasedfuture would require a major upheaval in every culture, and is going to take more convincing than just a little text on top of a picture of cattle.
Shopping in a different section of the same grocery store doesn't reduce the capacity of an abattoir. If you want to save animals, you'll need to go to where they are being endangered and save them.

Asking #ChatGPT to repeat #veganPropaganda doesn't make it true.
Unless you are #Buddhist or #Hindu, #Karma has no bearing on any of your decisions. I doubt most #American s care about Karma. And being #vegan doesn't actually save the animals, so if you are trying to make up for eating them, you're going to need to go to where the animals are going to be slaughtered and stop it.
sounds like malthusian bullshit
