Lovely end of year lunch with the Advanced Materials Group @PhysicsANU. Tried an awesome new Ramen noodle restaurant (as we are a group that does a lot of Raman microspectroscopy!) AND we all got a group mug from Santa.
Perfect end to the year. Great peeps.
Ran a conference 3-8 Dec 2023 at ANU Physics. 550+ attendees, multiple social events.
So far no reported COVID cases.
How?
I did CO2 measurements so knew some rooms would be an issue - purchased & borrowed several air filters for low flow rooms, had free tests & P2 masks.
It can be done folks.
The gift of jet lag - the quiet of the early hours.
✅ Got my first high pressure experiment of the trip done (☕ !) and are now enjoying listening to the German birds singing in the dawn.
This afternoon we hit the lab and tomorrow the clock starts for 48 hrs of high pressure beamtime here at DESY. 💪

A raptor’s eyes are very large in relation to the size of their skull. But raptors are not able to move their eyes around like humans can. Instead they have extra bones in their neck which allow them to move their whole head around. Some raptors, like owls, can rotate their heads 270 degrees.
