Just playing around with #darktable - a great software for image development
Formatting support in the Little Backup Box export tools has been improved. Telegram, Matrix, Mastodon, and Bluesky now receive cleaner and more consistent text output, including better handling of line breaks, basic emphasis, and links.

Little Backup Box just got a major upgrade:
You can now automatically post to **Matrix**, in addition to **Mastodon**, **Bluesky**, and **Telegram**.
Setting up access credentials for all supported platforms is simple:
just open the **Web UI**, enter your account details, and you’re ready to go. A more detailed walkthrough is available in the Wiki:

Inside the built-in **image viewer**, you can mark photos, videos, and text for posting to any configured social media platform. Images can also be enriched with descriptions, which get included in the final post.
Posting works just like performing a backup:
open the **Backup** page in the Web UI, choose your **source** and **destination**, and the content is published instantly.
A small tool designed for field backup now doubles as a compact social-media publishing machine - straight from your camera, phone, or SSD to the world.

**Overhauled Password Management**
Password handling has been fundamentally improved. LBB now supports **special characters** in passwords - including **quotes**. This makes WiFi access more secure and far more flexible than before.

The latest update brings two major improvements:
**WiFi QR Code on the Display**
Little Backup Box can now show a WiFi QR code directly on its screen - including the WiFi password. When LBB is running in **hotspot mode**, any device can join the hotspot instantly by scanning the QR code. No typing, no errors, just connect.

I first plug in the SSD (target), then power on my Little Backup Box (LBB). After boot, I connect all cameras, phones, and card readers with memory cards via a USB hub. The automatic "any USB" → "USB" backup starts right away (as configured in web UI).

My LBB first copies all connected devices to the SSD. Then it runs a cloud backup "USB" → "sFTP" (as configured in web UI)). Previews are generated meanwhile. Local copy takes minutes; cloud upload can last all night.

When I’ve got time, I disable auto cloud backup. Then at first I review and rate photos via the LBB web UI on my phone — ratings sync with darktable. At the same time I mark favorites for Mastodon, Bluesky and Telegram, publish them, then start the cloud backup manually.
