I am a blind technologist, humanist, a voracious devourer of books, speaker, writer, and a thinker, who finds himself championing accessibility for fun and necessity. I'm currently exploring the complex world of AR and VR worlds to find best ways to achieve full accessibility for disabled people.
Oh and give me your fun book recommendations: be it nonfiction, science fiction and fantasy, romance, mystery, and more.

It’s in the Post app mission statement that you can’t cyberbully the rich

This is surreal that I’m getting to do this. The video will be up in a few days :) #accessibility #warcraft
@jscholes @blindndangerous @objectinspace @ppatel Yes, my current build is at https://modulus.isonomia.net/doodles/unspoken.nvda-addon and the source, if you want to build it yourself or verify, is at https://github.com/bingen13/unspokenPy3
Looking for a amazing Senior Detection Engineer/Researcher for MacOS/Linux. Fully remote. #obts #macOS #linux #cybersecurity
A lot of the folks who became climate deniers started out fighting air pollution regulations, and never really left that fight. I wrote something about it for Rolling Stone, but my editor there left, took it to The Guardian and editor there left too, so it sat. Last week I realized the main guy in the story I'd been working on is at the same org as the folks suddenly fighting renewables again. So many zombie arguments! Finally decided to just publish it: https://www.drilledpodcast.com/drilled-down-when-it-comes-to-climate-obstruction-coal-is-still-very-much-alive/
@blindndangerous @jscholes @objectinspace Thanks for this. I need to try it.
Adventures in #graphics while #Blind — one day i said to myself: i bet #Generative text-to-image service Craiyon would be cool for making tactile graphics. Started simple (i thought), by requesting "line drawing of a pair of scissors". Got what one reader aptly called a very dangerous fidget spinner. It haunts me still
@jscholes @objectinspace @mcourcel That add-on and another one haven't been updated in awhile, rendering them nonfunctioning for modern NVDA.
@objectinspace @jscholes @mcourcel I have been asking for such a thing for years. I agree. That's one thing I completely miss. I had all my controls and states mapped to sounds. It was incredibly efficient. Using voice variability for headings was also quite useful.
A spaceship landed, and an alien emerged.
"We come in peace," they said, "to ask you to resume analog TV broadcasts, so we can receive them."
"Sorry, don't think we can."
The alien made a resigned gesture. "We feared as much. Then, please take us to the nearest Blockbuster."

I wish @nasa were as diligent about providing #altText for the images it posts here as the JWT people do on their accounts. Image descriptions are important for #accessibility so please provide descriptions, NASA.
Unfortunately I have to stop actively working on #Metatext for a while due to health issues. I really wish I could implement Mastodon 4 features and squash every bug, but it's not possible for me to do so right now.
I know the app has become important to a lot people, so I'm open to a new maintainer who can carry on its values of privacy and accessibility taking it over if there's interest and a fit. Email info@metabolist.org if you (or your organization) are interested
Aries: I highly suggest that you dive headfirst into the day because believe me going into that woodchipper feet first is going to hurt a hell of a lot more.
@ChanceyFleet Ah. ... Step 1: renews subscription for a month ...
