"The Princess Bride" won our poll on favorite Rob Reiner movies, but we agree with most of the comments, who said it was almost impossible to choose. Better poll questions? The one you watched most recently, the one you plan to watch next, or the one you quote/reference most frequently. How we enjoyed the outpouring of love for Reiner: His talent, and his integrity.
Here are a couple of pieces we read and enjoyed over the past few days. 1.) @AssociatedPress's tribute to Michele Singer Reiner, the photographer and producer
2.) Wil Wheaton's gorgeous tribute to Rob, who directed him in "Stand By Me."
"When I was turning 13, and realizing that my own father didnβt care about me, that my mother didnβt see me as a son, but as a thing she could put to work, Rob Reiner made me feel loved, valued, seen, and respected," Wheaton writes. "Rob was a good person who put great art into the world, who made a positive difference in more lives than any of us can imagine. The world is a better place thanks to his activism and the way he chose to use all of his privilege and influence."
Rest in peace, Rob and Michele.
