It joins the dam underground, it's covered with earth on top, with short grass on top. To the right, there are stairs going down (with yellow railing). Above the canal there's a concrete walkway going right, with dark metal railings (not yellow). To the sides, the river connects to additional concrete canals, that turn towards the dam in straight edges, then turn back parallel to it. The river turns right. To the right of it, there are green meadows. To the left, additionally plowed fields, some of them still covered by snow. Further away, some brownish trees in shadows. The church tower is also visible here in the distance.

abeMeda 7.8.7 now also supports imorting WinCatalog XML exports - analog to the already supported catalog formats. You can create reports of your WinCatalog data, and export them to xml - and then import those XML into new catalog files in abeMeda.
And if you still have the original discs and media, you can then connect those imported catalogs to their actual volumes, and update them using their original files - in order to add thumbnails and a lot more data to them that the import can not supply.

with abeMeda 7.8.7 we have now established much better access to the stored data in our catalogs, mainly the stored previews. With the hugely enhanced Photo Export you can now make use of the generated previews, even if the original files may not (or no longer) be available.
And you can of course not only export and convert photos, but many more media files (like videos, audio files' cover art, PDFs, books [ePub] or comics [CBR|CBZ], ...) - any files' previews can also be exported now.
This can be useful if an external storage is temporarily out of reach, or even extremely helpful to salvage files after a data loss, when you have only your catalogs left.

A sun-dappled patch of a pond's shoreline. This corner of the lake is shallow and filled with water grasses, merging almost seamlessly with a marshy shore covered with tall grass, ferns and small leafy shrubs. The trail we are walking is about to cross the pond's small outlet stream on a very rustic looking old dam several feet high and about the same in width, looking much like an old stone wall with a flattish top. Beyond the dam is a cool, shady forest of mature hardwoods.

This article makes me wonder. Can we spin a positive story like this, effacing the entire history of the enormous #dam and the harm it wrought 50 y ago? I first read the story of #Tucurui in Catherine Caufield's excellent book 'In the #Rainforest' (1986). Shifting baselines. Cognitive dissonance. These #words don't quite cut it. We need new words for such acts of forgetting -- unremembering a whole world lying dead below these monstrosities. I propose: Hadean amnesia.
