Scenes from a (Quiet) Revolution.
For the last two weeks, the street between two elementary schools in #Montreal have been closed to cars.
My son goes to one of them. The drop-off and pick-up, which used to be dangerous and stressful, have become a real pleasureāsomething to look forward to.
Take a look:

With six lanes of traffic plus two lanes for bikes and scooters, which go all over the place anyway, I wouldnāt cross the road to the campus except at the crossing with the lightsš¦and itās still challenging! #DailyWalkPic 12/06/25

Happy #Friday to all! It's almost full-bloom of lilac season in northern #Michigan. Now if only I could somehow package the scent to go along with the pic! Can this be my #3GoodThings post for today? There's certainly more than 3 lilacs and certainly at least 3 good things about them... sight, smell, and happy pollinators.
Germanyās water reserves benefit from phaseout of nuclear and coal. Germanyās growing reliance on wind and solar is reducing water withdrawals once used for cooling coal and nuclear plants. This shift is easing pressure on rivers and aquifers during droughts, showing unanticipated environmental benefits beyond emissions cuts. Scientists overturn century-old belief about how cells divide in living organisms. Using advanced imaging and cell-patterning techniques, UK researchers found that elongated parent cells maintain their asymmetry during division, creating daughter cells with different sizes and functions. This breakthrough could transform our understanding of tissue development, cancer progression, and regenerative medicine approaches.
