Very happy to see PhotoGimp, which turns Gimp into Photoshop-like, still works fine with Gimp 3.0-RC1. I use it to edit my watercolor paintings (mostly contrast and colors, since my scanner is not accurate). You'd be surprised how much digital editors are used by traditional painters these days. Especially for commissions and book illustrations where clients want changes all the time.

@jennys_knittings It's going to be a headband! I wanna finish it this weekend and show off the final product before I give it to my roommate

It took TWO WEEKS to go from my last photo to this one. I finally finished the pattern for this #knitting project which uses yarn smaller than I'm used to. hoping to finish the rest this weekend! #fallfinishalong

I shitcanned my Twitter 2 weeks ago.

Left behind 30,000 followers.

Only have 1000 here.

But I still get more traffic to my writing...

Which should tell you something about Birdchan.

Anyway, repost to support an indie transgender tech writer and journalist! ✍️🍕🏳️‍⚧️

I started work on my next #knitting project. This one will be a Norwegian design ear warmer for my roommate from Norway!

I'm not used to working with thinner yarn so it's taking longer to make progress
#fallfinishalong hopefully?

This is another pot holder #knitting project that I finished for my friend for Jul. I wanted to gift it before we moved to #ballard #seattle but I just didn't have the time. So it was my first project I started here, and now it's all done!

Another daily done! :) Cabin dreams.

You can grab the full-quality versions (for free) here: ko-fi.com/i/IO5O5Q59T5

ENJOY!

Pixel art of a world blanketed in the purity of untouched snow, where towering mountains wear a crystalline crown, their snowy peaks shimmering under the celestial spotlight. A solitary cabin stands, an embodiment of resilient warmth amidst the biting frost. Its wooden contours, softened by the snow, appear as a humble haven in this winter wonderland. Adding its luminous poetry to the scene, the full moon holds court in the expansive sky, casting silver threads of moonlight over the entire tableau. This ethereal light weaves a subtle, captivating tapestry across the Pacific Northwest's winter canvas, illuminating every snowflake, every tree, every silent whisper of the icy wind. This is not merely an image, but a moment in time, frozen and held for eternity, where nature's stillness speaks a thousand words, and the serene silence echoes with the beauty of the moonlit night. It's #WIPWednesday and that can only mean one thing!

(it's me reposting all the projects I already posted to the various craft communities on #Lemmy earlier today)

Here we have an awkward double shot of my Steampunk World Map #BlackworkEmbroidery project, which is slow going as I add all those tiny shapes down the right hand side, and this self-designed spooky house silhouette #CrossStitch.

The house is *so* spooky, it gave me motion sickness earlier today. Yeah, you heard me.

Then I've also made good progress on the Halloween sock! Heel is turned, gusset is next, this might actually be finished in time for me to wear it on #Halloween 2023! 🤯

@knitting @crossstitch #Knitting #SockKnitting #FiberArts

Two embroidery projects side by side. On the left, a delicate blackwork project in shades of yellow, brown and red. It is part of a world map made up of steampunk-style cogs. On the right, a solid black silhouette of a spooky house is being cross stitched on orange linen fabric.Half-knitted sock in a slip stitch pattern of orange and purple. The little heel pouch has been created, but where the sock gusset will eventually be is now just a gaping hole!

The Gods are ends in themselves, no promise either of earthly success or eternal life is necessary to make them worthy of respect. There is no hierarchy in the universe, no being fundamentally "deserves" or "doesn't deserve" worship, because moral categories are socially emergent. Ultimately the category of "God" is a social relation between two beings.

In the City of God, Augustine goes on and on about how only the god who made the world and promises eternal life is "worthy" of worship and it's like, why? The only people who should be worshipping Jesus are people who have an edifying relationship either with him as a god, with one of his saints or with his church. Eternal life and his identification with the logos or the demiurge or whatever don't enter into it.

Deity is not a means to an end!

If you are a person who likes #knitting and you need a small bag to put Things in, like interesting pebbles, a lip balm, a cursed USB device, a key, a stolen ruby, or a small fidget, I made a free pattern, the Apothecary's Pocket, that makes a drawstring bag with a few configurations and a lot of size variation.

Three drawstring pouches made with fingering weight, or sock weight, yarn. One has a plastic cord stopper, one has a folded-over linen stitch top, the other has a plain top.Two drawstring pouches with linen stitch folded-over tops holding the drawstrings.Three completed drawstring pouches and one in progress, showing different sizes you can make. The smallest pouch holds a titanium pry bar, one of the others holds unknown items, the third is empty.
