I archived the rest of them in the desktop app. They all continued to remain visible in the browser extension. I quit and restarted the browser and then they were finally no longer visible in the extension.
This is not good!

Today I attempted to archive some old #1Password items in the browser extension in Vivaldi. I searched for the items I wanted to archive, selected each one, and selected the "Archive" menu command. Nothing appeared to happen. Each one should have disappeared from view as I archived it but they didn't.
I tried archiving one of them again, and I got "an error occurred."
I looked in the desktop app and found that some of them had been archived successfully and others hadn't.

Managing secrets at a small scale on Linux often means copying files manually or giving in and running more services. op-secret-manager is a single-binary tool that uses SUID privilege separation to fetch 1Password secrets on demand.
No daemons, no persistent agents, just secrets in /run/user/$UID/secrets.

Nothing can really fully replace iCloud (google was obviously never an option). But I’ve made good use of Proton mail, and Proton drive. Looking very much forward to the promised Proton drive linux client. Also, I tried uploading my entire 100K+ iCloud photos album with Proton drive’s photo sync feature. It kind of worked, and eventually completed (took two months), but the app behaves way too slow and lacks the features to replace Apple’s photos app. That might change, though, as Proton drive is being developed. Also, Proton VPN is very good, although I miss a few features I used to have on NordVPN. I was sad to let #1Password go, but with Proton pass included in my subscription I couldn’t really defend the double expense. So all in all, #Proton yeay! 3/n

… aber für mich sind diese Netzwerk „almost dead“ was das betrifft. Die Frage sehen nur wenige und was bringt das schon. Wir haben 2026 - ich frage evtl. eine LLM 😒

So 1password’s Firefox extension still doesn’t fill in forms on non-https sites. Anyone know if this is a 1Password or Firefox issue? I host a ton of local tools that are now a pain to log into.

I just discovered that the #1Password
browser extension has a huge negative impact on page rendering speed. Enabling the extension causes 2x degradation in the Speedometer benchmark score, and perceived performance is much better with the extension turned off. I was planning to migrate to #KeePassXC anyway, and now I think I should do it sooner. To be fair, KeePassXC extension also affects the benchmark score, but much less so.
