A while ago I broke my 8BitDo Pro 2 grey edition (no comment) and got a black edition as replacement. I did not expect the black to be this thorough and do not like it.
Having both the tools and the guts (not necessarily the skills, though) I opened both broken and new controller and transplanted the ABXY keys.
I love the result, and the controller still works, too!
As per routine, I hooked up the Steam Deck to the docking station on my work desk and fired up a game for a few missions before starting my daily work.
Today's choice was X4, but I completely forgot that that game extensively uses all the buttons on the Deck for aerial maneuvers, so I've been unable to play it with my 8BitDo Ultimate 2, because I found out I'm having some issues mapping the back buttons of the controller to Steam OS / Linux.
Anyone had this same issue? Asking before delving into the web for a long and technical adventure, which I don't mind at all 😂

Funktioniert gut, Dank 65W Netzteil und 4k60Hz hoffe ich, dass es auch mit der #NintendoSwitch2 funktioniert 🤔
Die beiden Nintendo Docks sind ja nicht kompatibel. Das liegt an ein paar Rillen, die das Einschieben der anderen Konsole verhindern, aber vor allem am Netzteil. Damit die Switch1 an einem Dock ein Bild ausgibt, braucht sie 15V/3A. Ein 5V Charger funktioniert an dem Dock nicht.
Bei der Switch2 sind es 20V/3A... das kann das #PowKong Dock!
Das Hdmikabel des alten Docks soll man auch nicht für die Switch2 verwenden. Kann es keine 4k60Hz oder 2k120Hz? Kommt dann einfach nur 1K als Auflösung raus? An kleinen und alten TV mit nur 1K (1080p) wird ja wohl auch die Switch2 ein Bild ausgeben🤔

Auch ob meine USB Adapter von #8bitdo und #Brook noch funktionieren, bin ich mal gespannt. Zocke ja mit #Dualsense auf #Nintendo ✊️

My #8BitDo #SN30Pro started drifting down on the left joystick about 2 weeks ago. I've had it for about 2 years, right before they came out with the ultimate software (which this model isn't compatible with) and at the time, I wasn't doing enough serious gaming to warrant a higher end device. In fact, I was compelled by the RPi compatibility. I'm going to do some maintenance (firmware refresh, check internals) and see if I can resolve it. The controller has put in a lot of good work and it serves most needs. It could be worth an upgrade, there's nothing special about 8BitDo joysticks compared to others, but I'm pretty sure I didn't choose to get the #hallEffect ones which are designed to reduce (though arguably not able to eliminate) drift. Any device with joysticks (like the PSP) that's "travel sized" still don't make me less afraid of damaging joysticks when traveling. I'd consider passing it on to a friend curious about controllers. It's a great starter, especially for indie gamers.

I'm one of those people that knew about the Nintendo #SuperFamicom well before the #SNES was announced in the US and was sorely disappointed with the blocky redesign and the loss of the colored buttons.
I left consoles behind for PC after the PS2, so I don't use controller super often, but many years ago when I wanted to replace a generic PC gamepad, I discovered #8bitdo and the SFC30, basically a wireless Super Famicom styled controller.

I hate to say it but the #anbernic RG P01 controller isn't just bad, it's terrible.
It's a little bit to small, the two buttons on the back don't register.
But worst of all: the buttons are triggered at random even if you don't touch them.
And... the firmware upgrade procedure consists of executing some black-box exe file on Windows.
I've got loads of #8bitdo controllers and none of this bullshit.
Any day now, I'm just expecting gamers to put on their sunscreen and brave the bright death ball in the sky to stand up for themselves.
Or the shitposting will continue until morale improves.
